Born in Chicago, Illinois, Q. Sheree Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement Administration from Western Illinois University, although very early in adulthood her career interests shifted to professional sales and marketing. Formerly a top-producing real estate sales broker and trainer, her desire to explore creative writing led her to Houston, Texas’ renowned Rice University in 1993, where she studied the art of fiction writing.

Q. Sheree Smith’s published works include Kiss of Life, a tantalizing novel about a racially mixed couple, and On the Inside, a space vacation fantasy. Q is also a lyrical poet and her rhythmic verse includes the published and recorded piece, Ain’t Got No Time, as well as the published poems, One Man’s Spirit and That Woman.

Façade, Smith’s forthcoming tale, continues to follow the lives of Alexandra and Brian, the intriguing characters presented in the author’s first novel, Kiss of Life. Set mainly in the tropical Florida Keys, the stimulating story is about the intermingling lives of individuals who come from completely different backgrounds and a few who are not what they first appear to be. The account takes place over a 176-day period beginning on the third of November in 2003, two days before Alexandra and Brian’s son Michael turns seven years old. Laced with thought-provoking ambiguity, romantic conflict and unforgettable drama, Façade delves into the intimate aspects of this famous interracial couple’s marriage and family life.

While Q writes fiction and poetry, she also runs a home-based telecommunications services business. Every so often, the author takes a sabbatical from writing and revitalizes her creativity by either taking an extended holiday or by counseling others about their vacation needs at one of Las Vegas’ most luxurious resorts.
